Scientists Suggest that Swindle Fudged Data3 May 07
Two more scientists have stepped forward to criticize the U.K. TV documentary, the Great Global Warming Swindle , for misleading viewers with unsubstantiated conclusions about climate change. Dr. Eigil Friis-Christensen, Director of the Danish National Space Center, and Nathan Rive, a Research Fellow and the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research (CICERO) in Oslo, Norway, say the only way the program could have produced at least one of its graphs (inset) was by making up the data. |

National Post Promotes Singer's Dubious Attack on Al Gore's Mentor2 May 07
If there is an opportunity anywhere in the “Cosmos” to deny the science of climate change – the evidence notwithstanding – The National Post’s Lawrence Solomon seems intent upon finding it. In a 19-part series on climate change “Deniers,” Solomon has canvassed the science world for people whose work challenges the consensus that human-produced CO2 is changing the climate in a potential disastrous way. Fair enough; fringe voices are often interesting. But on several occasions, Solomon has let his enthusiasm get the better of him, identifying as deniers people who are on record as agreeing with the scientific consensus (here, here and especially here). Now, Solomon has disinterred one of the most infamous attacks not only on climate science but on the reputation of a renowned climate scientist, Dr. Roger Revelle. |

Deniers evolution from ozone to global warming22 Mar 07
Here are recent statements by vocal media impressarios and think tanks who spend their time, not in a laboratory, but in the popular media trying to convince the public that global warming is either not happening, or is not caused by our continued consumption of fossil fuels (oil, coal, gas etc). Below each one, I have also provided an historical quote on what they had to say about the effects of CFC's on the hole in the o-zone layer. Notice any similarities? |

How Can I Get on Amy's Guest List?14 Mar 07
Amy Ridenour, friend of big tobacco, big oil and the big Jack Abramoff, and proprietor of the National Centre for Public Policy Research, recently held a Deniers' Luncheon with Tim Ball as the guest of honour. Amy has even provided a photo on her blogsite in which you can see Dr. Ball showing the gap between what he says about climate change and what honest-to-goodness climatologists hold to be accurate science.

A Global Warming Swindle play-by-play12 Mar 07
The UK Channel 4 documentary "The Great Global Warming Swindle " has been touted by deniers and slammed by a lot of others, including one scientist who appeared in the film. Having taken a quick glance over the movie, the first thing that jumps out is that it's the same guys we write about on DSBlog all the time. There's nothing new here that we have not heard ad naseum from the same handful of global warming deniers. Here's a few obvious points: Putting lipstick on a Llama: Tim Ball, retired professor at the University of Winnipeg's department of geography, has magically turned into "Professor Tim Ball, University of Winnipeg, Department of Climatology." Here's some more on Tim Ball. $100 in iTunes to the first person to find the elusive department of climatology at the University of Winnipeg. I'll even give you the list of departments at U of W to make it easier. |
